MiMi joined Team JuJu on October 23, 2004 at a very silly puppy age of 10.5 weeks (on this picture, she's 3 days old). She came from Shannon Down Whippets in South Carolina and fit right in to our home - driving JuJu crazy, eating cedar chips in the yard, and having passion for the plastic bag. She also attended obedience and agility classes, but never competed in these venues. After her re-injured toe gets a bit more stable, she'll be back on the coursing field again on limited basis.

MiMi earned her first ASFA lurecoursing points on September 3, 2005 by getting a Best Of Breed, got her JC a day later, and finished her ASFA Field Championship on November 12th, 2005.

In her very short lurecoursing career (1.5 years), MiMi earned JC, SC, ASFA FCh and 219 LCM points plus all required first LCM placements. She also got a BIF, took 2nd place at the 2006 International Invitational, and BOB at the 2006 Grand National! For 2006, she was CLCA's #2 Whippet and #3 hound across all breeds.

"Screamin' MiMi"

Yes, MiMi's true passion is lurecoursing, just like JuJu's. She throws a great fit at the line, screaming bloody murder before she's released each time. The huntmaster always has to raise the voice to make sure everyone hears the instructions.

Unfortunately, MiMi tore ligaments in her toe while coursing on October 8th, 2006, which put her out of coursing for the rest of the year. She didn't enjoy the recovery time after surgery at all (see pictures below), but returned to lurecoursing in early 2007. The injury returned in March 2007 and we thought about retiring her for good. However, looks like the future might be brighter for Miss MiMi - the toe healed up pretty good and we'll give her a chance to course again either at the end of 2007 or more likely in 2008 - on a very limited basis and carefully selected courses. We'll see how she does then.

MiMi also proved her therapy dog abilities when I had my wisdom teeth pulled in 2005. She forgot about being a little rascal of a puppy, cuddled right next to me every day, and slept with her head on my shoulder. Couldn't ask for a better nurse...
